This book comes in at well over 400 pages and I found it to be a cumbersome read. Bishop Jakes uses his own life experience to support the ideas, concepts, and direction that he provides within it's pages. Too often I was tuned out because he went around the mountain where I felt he should have gone through the mountain. This book contains so many good points, solid direction, and keen insight, but much of it may be lost due to the long route around that mountain! I did not get much out of this read because it just did not hit the mark for me. A more “to the point” rendering of the practical advice provided would have gone a long way in my opinion.
