Sources of knowledge are readily available to us. Gadgets, media platforms, e-books, audible books, traditional books, the internet, and many other sources are plentiful and easily accessed. How we use the knowledge that we are exposed to is another story entirely. We need to pursue the proper use of knowledge and apply what we learn to enhance our daily lives. Diligently searching for a clear understanding of what we learn is paramount to our making the right choices, choices that lead to action in the now which will lead to happy lives down the road. Simply put, we need to be actively pursuing WISDOM. Wisdom may be described as the proper use of knowledge and serves as a bridge between knowledge and understanding. Our quest for wisdom must always begin with the Word of God as our primary source. The Bible's featured book for plentiful instruction is PROVERBS. But as you may know or not know, the Book of Proverbs is not always as clear in it's message as we would like it to be. Diligent study will open up the practical and spiritual aspects of this precious book.
Joyce Meyer in her new book, “In Search Of Wisdom,” unlocks principles found in the Book of Proverbs which will serve us well if we actually obey them. The lack of making wise choices, Joyce points out, has caused many people the frustration of living lives that are now falling apart. Joyce's simple and easy to read writing style affords the reader the opportunity to understand the principles needed to lead joyful, happy, and prosperous lives. Pleasing God and being a blessing to others may be achieved when we apply the wisdom that is revealed to us. Joyce starts out by defining the seven foundational principles that are found repeatedly throughout the thirty-one chapters of Proverbs. This helps the reader better understand these interwoven principles which may serve as a guide to our actions in everyday life. I found this to be a true blessing. The chapters contain sub chapters if you will with headings that shed light on their content and this provides a nice touch. Joyce also incorporates nugget boxes throughout the book at strategic places. These boxes contain critical thinking questions which offer readers the opportunity to pause, answer, and make reflection on key points.
Joyce does a great job of bringing clarity to The Book Of Proverbs. This is a book that I will use over and over and over again!
