Philippians, A Biblical Study written by Joyce Meyer is her last book in the series. She starts the book off with a section which provides suggestions on, “How To Study This Book.” Also provided is important information regarding the background of Philippians along with key truths that may be found in this epistle of joy written by the apostle Paul. Joyce has placed “Personal Reflection” boxes at strategic locations throughout the book. These boxes contain questions that will stimulate the thought process allowing readers to really examine the section's content as it pertains to their lives. The boxes also include space where readers may write down answers, make notes, and identify areas where possible life changes may be made.
Joy gives us strength, and Joyce wants for us to increase it's level in our lives by studying this wonderful book of the Bible. It is vitally important that we understand fully that Paul wrote this epistle about joy, mentioning joy so many times, while being held captive in a Roman prison!
Joyce Meyer with her usual easy to understand writing style has provided us with a book that is “joyful” to read. If readers take the time to use this book as a study guide when diving into the Bible, I believe that lives may be changed. We are living in a tough world and our culture is such right now that happiness may seem elusive. You see happiness is based on circumstances and is an outside job. BUT! Joy is an inside job, and if we apply the principles provided by Paul, we will have the ability to trust God, and live in joy by allowing the grace of our Lord and Savior to rule our hearts. Joyce has made the study of this important book of the Bible easy to do. There are no excuses!
