Melinda Lee Rathjen grew up in southern Illinois, reading past her bedtime whenever she could get away with it. As an editor at WorthyKids, she still spends a lot of time reading, though stealth and flashlights are rarely necessary. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with two very opinionated cats.
Kristyna Litten studied Illustration at Edinburgh College of Art and graduated in 2010. She now lives in a beautiful village in Yorkshire where she is heavily reliant on the good old pencil and a great big cup of tea to keep her going. She prefers to draw quickly to give an energetic line quality to her illustrations, often adding color and other hand-produced textures digitally. Kristyna lives in Yorkshire, England.
Our little ones have to process adult realities such as: negative circumstances, difficult days, loneliness, inabilities, seemingly bad luck, failure, and unhappiness – to name a few, through their limited knowledge and life experience. As we read the new book “The Snuggle Is Real” to them, the rhyming verse and the warm, beautiful illustrations show them that whether things seem tough and difficult to understand, or there is “joy in the air” AND “it's been a fun day,” when LOVE is involved, SNUGGLES make everything right! The book feels nice to the touch, is easy to clean, but not easy to tear. I read this book to my 4 year old granddaughter and when I asked her what she liked about the book she replied, “I like everything about it.” I think she is saying that this book is a recommended read!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Hachette Book Group and I am not required to write a positive review. The opinions expressed are my own.
